Well the winter weather is certainly upon us so it has been no surprise to see a sharp increase in Boiler Reactive maintenance call outs over the last month.
Most commonly the call out has been relating to pressure issues and ignition faults, many of the faults have been rectified via the telephone, avoiding the need for call out charges wherever possible.
Regular Boiler Servicing not only helps to ensure your boiler ‘lives’ for longer but also ensures you are getting the best energy efficiency from the system. This is increasingly important to all of us since the announcement of the increase in energy prices.
Another area, often forgotten about until it is too late, is the management of Boilers within Void premises. Whilst you may have ensured the power has been switched off and the void premises are secure – have you drained down the heating system? As the temperatures drop the pipes begin to freeze and this can unfortunately lead to burst pipework and tanks.
The aftermath of such an issue can be catastrophic and extremely expensive to resolve.

Unusual Call out of the Month
Probably the most unusual call out this month would have to go to the Landlord that reported a ‘bed bug’ infestation.
Pest Control is a relatively common request for Absolute but the Bed Bugs are a rarity – that said – whatever your needs Absolute can accommodate.
